300 Total Ballots Cast
I just want to personally thank everyone who took the
time to cast their ballots in the 2nd Annual SNLHQ Awards. This year nearly doubled
last year's total ballots cast. Thanks so much for making this even more of
a success this time around. Make sure you surf back next summer for the 3rd
Annual SNLHQ Awards... And now, the long awaited results!
| BEST EPISODE | ||
| Jack Black / The Strokes | 42 (14%) | |

The Jack Black hosted episode seems to be the favorite among SNL fans, followed closely behind by the season finale hosted by Winona Ryder, and the episode before that hosted by Kirsten Dunst.
| WORST EPISODE | ||
| Derek Jeter / Shakira & Bubba Sparxxx | 40 (13.3%) | |
| Josh Hartnett / Pink | 36 (12%) | |
| Drew Barrymore / Macy Gray | 32 (10.6%) | |

This one was close! When I was counting the ballots these three episodes switched back and forth, but at the end Derek Jeter ended up with the most votes. He was followed closely by the Josh Hartnett and Drew Barrymore episodes.
| BEST HOST | ||
| Jack Black | 54 (18%) | |
| Jon Stewart | 49 (16.3%) | |
| Kirsten Dunst | 24 (8%) | |

Jack Black definitely seems to be a fan favorite! He won this category with 18 percent of the votes. Jon Stewart followed very closely behind, and Kirsten Dunst trailed a little bit in third.
| WORST HOST | ||
| Josh Hartnett | 45 (15%) | |
| Jonny Moseley | 44 (14.6%) | |
| Derek Jeter | 42 (14%) | |

This was another very close category. Again, these three guys shuffled around when I was counting the ballots, but Josh Hartnett ended up with the most votes. Jonny Moseley was only one vote behind him in second, and Derek Jeter was two votes behind him in third.
| BEST MUSICAL GUEST | ||
| Jimmy Eat World | 46 (15.3%) | |
| Sum 41 | 38 (12.6%) | |
| The Strokes | 33 (11%) | |
| See Full Results... |
It seems I'm not the ONLY one who realizes rock rules! This was a very satisfying result, considering the top 7 vote getters in this category [Jimmy Eat World, Sum 41, The Strokes, No Doubt, P.O.D., Mick Jagger, and Creed] were rock (if you consider No Doubt rock, which they are usually classified under). Anyway, Jimmy Eat World ended up on top here with 15.3 percent of the votes, Sum 41 followed close in second with 12.6 percent of the votes, and The Strokes also proved to be a fan favorite with 11 percent of the votes.
| WORST MUSICAL GUEST | ||
| Bubba Sparxxx | 85 (28.3%) | |
| Andrew W.K. | 38 (12.6%) | |
| Eminem | 36 (12%) | |
| See Full Results... |
This was a non-contest. Bubba Sparxxx is clearly the worst musical guest of this season. Over 28 percent of the ballots voted him so! Second and third place were close, with Andrew W.K. and Eminem collecting those two positions.
| BEST CAST MEMBER | ||
| Will Ferrell | 123 (41%) | |
| Jimmy Fallon | 102 (34%) | |
| Chris Kattan | 18 (6%) | |
| See Full Results... |
This was closer than I expected. I honestly expected a Will Ferrell victory being a piece of cake, but he was challenged very closely by Jimmy Fallon. Those two ran away with the votes, and Chris Kattan was "best of the rest" with 6 percent of the votes.
| ROOKIE OF THE YEAR | ||
| Amy Poehler | 156 (52%) | |
| Seth Meyers | 111 (37%) | |
| Jeff Richards | 19 (6.3%) | |
| See Full Results... |
It's quite apparent that Amy Poehler was the fan favorite of this season. She received 52 percent of the votes to put her in first place. Seth Meyers was her only challenger with 37 percent of the votes. Jeff Richards managed to scrounge up 19 votes to put him ahead of Dean and into third place.
| BEST COMMERCIAL | ||
| Kotex Classic | 65 (21.6%) | |
| Dissing Your Dog | 45 (15%) | |
| Preparation H | 32 (10.6%) | |
| See Full Results... |
This was another fairly close category, but the Kotex Classic commercial ended up on top with over 21 percent of the votes. Will's very funny Dissing Your Dog commercial ended up in second with 15 percent, and the Preparation H parody from the first episode of the season tied for third place with Loose Bear with over 10 percent of the votes.
