It's been officially confirmed that there will be two
newcomers when SNL debuts on October 5th. Like previously reported here at

Armisen, the other a man by the name of Will
Forte.
Here's the official story from NBC.
"NEW YORK -- October 2, 2002 -- In addition to
welcoming Oscar winner Matt Damon and legendary
musical guest Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band,
SNL will debut two new performers on its season
premiere October 5 (NBC, 11:30 pm - 1:00 am ET) which
comes hot on the heels of the show's reason Emmy
victory for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy-Variety
Series.

to "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," the Chicago Comedy

own eponymous interstitial series on "HBO Zone."
Forte comes to SNL from LA's improv-sketch theater
"The Groundlings" where current castmembers Chris
Kattan, Chris Parnell and Maya Rudolph got their
start. Forte's experience has been predominantly
behind the camera -- serving as producer on "That 70's
Show" and as story editor for "3rd Rock from the Sun"
and "Action" as well as working as a writer for "Late
Show with David Letterman" and the MTV Movie Awards.
Returning to the show is the repertory cast of Rachel

Hammond, Chris Kattan, Tracy Morgan, Chris Parnell,
Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph and Horatio Sanz as well as
featured players Dean Edwards, Seth Meyers and Jeff
Richards."
Both Armisen and Forte
will be featured players.

It appears that next season's cast will be the same, minus
Will Ferrell. According to the NBC.com SNL bios, all cast members except for Ana

be around for another season, and Ana confirmed in person to Nick Mayhew that
she would be returning as well. Here at SNLHQ we're led to believe that Darrell
and Ana will both be around next season, but anything can happen until the very
last minute.
