How do I get tickets for SNL?

The process of getting tickets has changed this season.
Instead of the previous August lottery where you send in a postcard, the lottery now uses email. You must send all lottery entries to snltickets@nbc.com before August 31st.
    Standby procedure provided by Jamie.
Standby Tickets: Some of you may know about the procedure and some of you may not. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION BECAUSE THIS IS IMPORTANT. Its basically the same as last season. Tickets are handed out at 7:00am Saturday morning. However if you want to get a good # start lining up Friday afternoon/evening. You can only pick one ticket per person. You have a choice of either the dress rehearsal or the LIVE show. The age limit is 16. Dress Rehearsal starts at 8:00pm and the LIVE show starts at 11:30. There is no gurantee for admittance. You will line up on the 50th St side of Rockefeller Center. Here are some tips for doing great standby.

1. You may bring a chair or a blanket. [NO TENTS] You may bring a friend or a family member if you dont want to be alone. Yes you can even bring a dog to standby.

2. You may leave the line to use the restroom or get something to eat but you may not be gone for more than 2 hours. There are two 24 hour delis open and a 24 hour McDonalds for those things.

3. You have a less of a chance of getting in if you come during SWEEPS month. Those months are November, February, and May. You may also have a less of a chance getting in when there is a hot or popular host/MG.

4. You may not jump the line. If you do jump the line you will be moved back to the end of the line.

5. Dont worry about any bad thing happening because it is well lit up and security is everywhere. [Even security cameras]

6. If you do get into the show there is to be NO Videotaping or taking of pictures. If this happens these things will be confiscated.

7. If you arrive before midnight you may get to meet the cast and maybe the host.

8. The best part of doing standby is making friends and if you really liked it you will come back again. That is a guarantee.

Thats all the tips. I hope you have a fun time and GOOD LUCK.

I want to be a cast member, how do I get an audition?

Unfortunately, SNL doesn't hold auditions or accept audition tapes. In other words, don't call them; they'll call you. SNL sends scouts out to comedy clubs across the country, and if they see somebody they're interested in, they will set up a private audition for them. Two clubs which have produced many cast members are The Groundlings in Los Angeles, and Second City in Chicago.

Do you have a copy of a certain episode/sketch on VHS?

I tape every live episode and re-watch it so I can write my episode review. After that, they get taped over, either by next week's show or something sooner. Therefore, I personally cannot supply any VHS tapes if you're looking. However, I can try to help you out. First, check E-Bay, especially if it's a newer episode. People tape SNL and sell copies on E-Bay all the time, so, although you may pay a bit for it, it may be worth it. Also, hop on over to the Message Board and post a message. A lot of SNL fans check in and out of that message board, so a lot of people will see your request. Finally, if it's an episode from the current season, just wait for a bit and it will surely air again as a repeat.

Do you have a certain sketch as a multimedia file (.mpg, .avi, .mov, etc)?

I might.... E-Mail me your request!

When and where is SNL "taped"?

Well, it's not taped at all. It is a live show. Shows take place in Studio 8H of NBC Studios at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York City. Shows are 90 minutes in length and begin at 11:30PM.
