Billy Bob Thornton / Creed

By Nick Mayhew

Billy Bob Thornton is a very talented actor and director who is dedicated to the film industry and has proven himself. This means that I would be in for a good show this week, because if we have anything different than this, the show sucks. Before the show I was picturing some good sketches Billy Bob could appear in, lets see…

[COLD OPENING] Donald Rumsfeld Press Briefing

Darrell just seems to get new impressions on the show and they never die out. He really does a good job with all of them, which seems to prove that he is quite possibly the master impressionist in SNL history. This was great, without a doubt, and Darrell's face characteristics were great. I don't like Maya, and Will looked like Dubya as a reporter in this. Good opening!

RATING: 9/10

[MONOLOGUE] Billy Bob Thorton

Well, I have to say that this was the best monologue by far this season. I always like the Q & A monologues, and this was no exception. Making fun of Billy Bob over and over again doing his slingblade impression was golden. Funny of Billy Bob to mistake Dean for Tracy, as well as Amy coming out supposedly as how she really talks in a slingblade way.

RATING: 9/10

[SKETCH] Thanksgiving Feast

This is the type of comedy I normally like to see on the show. Billy Bob as the gay pilgrim was great, and yes, I knew Kattan would come out as his partner. When he said he liked the corn because of its shape, it was very funny to see Ana crack up. The centerpiece added a nice bonus to the sketch.

RATING: 8.5/10

[COMMERCIAL] ept Pregnancy Test

Re - playing this already?! Hmmm. I hope this means that's not it for the season. But still, this was one of the funniest commercial I've seen in years, aside from Homocil

[SKETCH] Nick Burns: Your Company's Computer Guy

WOW! Billy Bob played his part great as Nick's dad, exactly liked it should've been. I was always a fan of these sketches. Good to see Jeff in the sketch, and I liked how Billy Bob followed Jimmy around and eventually told him to"…MOVE!…" This is good classic comedy, and good to see it back after about a year.

RATING: 9/10

[SKETCH] Brian Fellow's Safari Planet

As many people will disagree with me, I really enjoy Safari Planet. Tracy does an all around good job during these sketches, including this one. When he was talking to the goat and not Kattan, and said that the goat had big devils eyes! Great! Also, that the dog on the sow was the biggest dog he's ever seen.

RATING: 8.5/10

[SKETCH] Inside the Actor's Studio

YES! I have been waiting for this for a long time! Holy Shit, every time they open on Will, I near crap my pants. I watch the real show sometimes, and Will just keeps getting better at it. Great as Lipton kept asking Billy Bob about the same movie, and the middle part caught me off guard, but it was really funny! Will hopping and skipping along the street while BB was getting ready to shoot him, great. At the end, I thought I'd have a hernia because he couldn't reach the cards with his broken hand. GREAT SKETCH!

RATING: 9.5/10

[SKETCH] Martha Stewart Living

Ahh, it seems that the regulars are heavily on tonight. Ana ALWAYS portrays a good Martha, and this was extremely funny. The Martha Boner was great, as well as her saying Thanksgiving will be special for all this year for all red-blooded, properly documented Americans. Ana was at her bitchy finest tonight!

RATING: 8/10

[SKETCH] Kandahar

They've been doing a lot of musical sketches lately, this one, and Gaydar a few weeks ago, well that was kind of musical. This was a bit odd at first, but when they came in saying they had got the Talliban, and started dancing to it (which for some reason reminded me of Grease) that was funny. Not exactly the laugh out loud sketch, but mildly funny.

RATING: 7.5/10

[WEEKEND UPDATE] With Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey

Weekend Update has been holding up strong lately, the highlight of the show, but this one really disappointed me. The worst of the season, and one of the worse they have done yet. My friend Bob Barron went and attended the dress, and said that WU was MUCH funnier but they cut all the good parts, likewise with the show, even though it was still good. This was on very late (12:30). The jokes fell through, the only seemingly high point was Rachel's Harry Potter, but even that was weak. One of the worst…

RATING: 7/10

[MUSIC] Creed "My Sacrifice"

Wow. Creed is a great band to begin with, and this sounded awesome live. One of the better musical guests in awhile.

RATING: 9/10

[SKETCH] Fenced-In Area

Errrrrrrrrrr right. This was really not funny. Worst sketch of the night, but it's a good thing they put it at the end of the show.

RATING: 3/10

[MUSIC] Creed

Another great song. Good musical guest streak now is at 2, but not for long (sigh)

[COMMERCIAL] My Big Thick Novel, By Jack Handey

This was funny, hope he gets more ideas

RATING: 6/10

SKETCH OF THE NIGHT: Inside The Actor's Studio

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT: Nick Burn's talking to his dad about a fellow employee
Dad: "Is this the guy that goes to the dudes with boobs website?"
Nick: "No, this is the guy who refused to open his email because he thought he'd get anthrax."

OVERALL EPISODE RATING: 74/100

WOW. This was really a great episode, and it showed. All sketches (well, most) were funny, and BB did a fantastic job hosting. The writing was good here, which proves in order to have a good show, you need an experienced host. Speaking of that, Derek Jeter….hmmm, and who the hell are the musical guests. Must be some lame crap, I mean rap music. That show will definitely suck, but I'm looking forward to the next 2 shows after that, MICK JAGGER!!!! Except, I will be missing that show because my girlfriend is dragging me to a stupid dance. Oh well, Good show this week!

Guess what folks, that's the news and I am outta here…
