Well, last time Drew Barrymore hosted, I have to say that I thought the show was very good. This time was a different though, as it was the third live show in a row, and seeing how the past two shows were this season, I didn't expect much.
And, how could the night go on without Tom Green showing up, so I expected that. I was also hoping for a push of reoccurring sketches, but would they happen? Let's find out… (I say that very nervously)
[COLD OPENING] Cornel Uncle Dick addresses the nation
Ahh, Darrell is back. I really think his Cheney impression is good, and this sketch was no exception. I really liked how he said, "that northern alliance they're talking about, pretty much just me." Wow, a great line! The part about Osama's toothbrush and beard was great too, and I always crack up when he mentions something about his heart, and the coffee thing added was great.

[MONOLOGUE] Drew Barrymore
Well, this wasn't the best monologue I've seen, but judging what happened Friday there, this was not bad. It was really cool when Tom came out in his mask and acting like an idiot. Other than that, just average…

[SKETCH] Crossing Over
I've sent his show a few times, and it's ok. SNL made a good move to do this spoof, but it wasn't NEARLY as funny as it could have been. Ferrell did a good impression, and the things said back and forth to him and the audience members was ok, but not a good sketch to open with.

[SKETCH] The Lovahs
I thought this sketch was odd at first, but now I really like it. This was the best one they've done yet; I couldn't stop laughing. Rachel was great, as was Will, and the spiced lamb shaves just made me piss my pants. And NO ONE could keep a straight face during this sketch, because it was so funny. Will's pronunciation of hot tub was great. Did Jimmy intentionally hit Drew's ass when he got out of the hot tub?

[SKETCH] Willy Wonk: 30th Anniversary
This actually was a good idea to do for a sketch, but again, it really didn't fit well together, and could have been funnier. Jeff looks like he does many good impressions, and this one was no exception. Maya as Nelly Furtado was ok, but other than that, I kind of got lost…

[T.V. FUNHOUSE] Fun with Real Audio
I've only seen Emeril's show once, and it was horrible. Jeez, if they're making fun of an NBC show, that sends a strong message. The Nielsen ratings thing was good, and how they kept changing the set. Emeril with the black kid was funny, and him in the gay bar too. Unfortunately, not a dirty Smigel one this week.

[SKETCH] First Liberty Savings Bank
Err, this sketch really got me lost, and was not funny at all. Will analyzing himself at the end was ok, but I was disappointed with this, and way to long!

Thinking: It'll be nice to see the Lara Flynn Boyle repeat next week…

[WEEKEND UPDATE] With Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey
First off, WU doesn't sound like a real news show because they changed announcers, which she sounds like a 10-year-old girl. Parnell was much better, and made it sound news like (Lorne must be continuing to turn the show into an 11 year old format). Anyway, this WU shone again. ALL of the jokes were funny, especially the Michael Jackson one, which proves my theory that these two together are great. Holy shit, Colin may have not been a great update anchor, but I think he's real good at editorials. His joke about Algazeera T.V. was good, and a great editorial all-around. Who's next, Brad Hall?! And for the love of God, Ferrell is a comic genius, don't fire him! With him doing Neil Diamond, and gay Hitler, it was just great how they fit it together. GREAT WU!

[SKETCH] Action Talk Show
This started out good, but lost a lot of momentum quickly, not a good sketch.

[SKETCH] WUUB's King Kong
This actually turned out to be an ok sketch, the recreations were ok, but it was still boring. The ending was actually better, and for the first time ever, Darrell broke character, and it wasn't even during a funny sketch, speaking of, he actually is one!

[SKETCH] Feminists
This was a good sketch, one of the better ones of the night again at the end of the show. The lesbian thing tied in nicely, and Ferrell was great again. I hate Maya, and Ana was good. The questioning was good too, not a bad sketch…

Anyone who sings like her should be put away.

Dinosaurs- this was ok, not as good as last weeks, but hopefully he'll get more ideas for later.

Well, I was VERY disappointed with this episode, but what can I say: the third live show in a row, but still no excuse for the show to be this bad. I was reading something that the shows writers feel that they will forever have their jobs because the show won't be cancelled: this might hold true to the effort they have been putting in lately. After seeing this episode, I continue to mourn Parnell's departure, and hopefully they'll get their act together by November. Next week, LFB, and then Halloween special.
