Tom Green / David Gray

I was looking forward to another episode to be hosted by a comedian. I had never heard of the musical guest, and I was hoping he'd impress. I was expecting big, hopefully a Celebrity Jeopardy. Too bad there's still no president, I want some of those sketches. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait and see what the show brings.

[COLD OPENING] Decision 2000

Heh, I liked the Brokaw opening. NBC is the perfect network to make fun of, especially since SNL is broadcasted on it. The Bush speech was funny too, but the sketch started to suck once Bush and Gore started singing together. Plus, it was VERY predictable that a "Live from New York" was coming at the end of their song. Oh well, all cold openings aren't great anyway.

RATING : 7/10

[MONOLOGUE] Tom Green

Err, I hoped this was just an act. Tom made a complete ass of himself. I'm sure he'll stop this crap once the sketches start...

RATING : 2/10

[COMMERCIAL] Magic Mouth

See my Dana Carvey review...

[SKETCH] Two Eagles

This was the most retarded sketch I've ever seen to start the show. I didn't even crack the slightest smile.

RATING : 1.5/10

[SKETCH] Rap Street

You can tell that SNL is really hurting when they bring these guys back. Yes, they are hilarious, but I don't think they're recurring character material. Hopefully they won't wear them out. I think it's great to see Jerry Minor getting some more airtime, he deserves it. And, I love Sanz as Kid Shazam. This sketch was looking good until Tom had to show up, urgh... He needs to see a doctor, he's a friggen retard.

RATING : 8/10

[SKETCH] Lorne and Tom in a Tub

Alright, this was just ridiculous. Once again, not even a smile, and I was hoping Lorne would reach over and punch him right in the mouth. Who the hell picked this guy to host!?!?!?

RATING : 0.5/10

[SKETCH] Decision 2000

Ahh, finally, back to the good old Hammond impressions. I loved how Parnell's character wasn't allowed to speak, and Ana Gasteyer's impression was hilarious.

RATING : 8/10

[CARTOON] Sex and the Country

Once this cartoon was over, I was completely overcome with rage. This was so disgusting, and in the worst taste that I've ever seen on SNL. How the HELL did this get the OK to air?!? Unless Smigal is drawing an Ambiguously Gay Duo cartoon, he shouldn't be allowed to show anything else. In fact, after this one, he deserves to be fired.

RATING : 0/10

[SKETCH] Dog Show

Oh great, Tom AND Molly in the same sketch. Just swell. Tom should have let that damn pig go, Molly's giggling ruined the sketch. Well, I never really liked this sketch anyway.

RATING : 1.5/10

[WEEKEND UPDATE] With Tina Fey & Jimmy Fallon

The show's only savior, the Weekend Update. This was the only part of the show that made me laugh. However, for some reason, SNL still thinks it's necessary to put Molly in to screw things up. Is it just me, or are ALL of Molly's characters repetitive? (I like DOGS, I'm FIFTY, I LOVE IT, Don't GET ME STARTED!) Oh well, this was still pretty good.

RATING : 9/10

[MUSIC] David Gray performs "Babylon"

Well, since I've never heard of the guy, I decided to give him a chance. I don't know what it was about this song, but I absolutely loved it. I'm now completely addicted. In my opinion, the best performance of the season. Who is this guy again?...

[SKETCH] Oprah

The Oprah impression kinda sucked, but the general gist of the show was dead on. I loved Will's impression of Dr. Phil. This was the first sketch Tom was in that didn't make me want to shoot myself multiple times in the face. Pretty decent, for this show.

RATING : 4/10

[SKETCH] VH1 Storytellers : Air Supply

This started off okay, and they lyrics to the song were really funny. HOWEVER, there's something about Will Ferrell frenching another man that makes me want to throw up all over myself. This really ruined the entire sketch.

RATING : 4.5/10

[SKETCH] Rock Around The Clock

Did this have a point, or is it another one of those pointless sketches used for time killers near the end. Actually, I think the clock wasn't supposed to break, because you could see workers behind the scenes franticly waving their arms, and the sketched ended early I think. Either way, still pointless.

Sketch of the night : Decision 2000

Quote of the night : Jimmy Fallon on Weekend Update  "Cereal maker General Mills is opening it's own amusement park this week with attractions like the Lucky Charms Magical Forest, the Wheaties Hall of Champions, and the Fiber One Restrooms."

    OVERALL EPISODE RATING : 38/100

I expected excellent, but instead I recieved the my worst SNL experience. If I was a first time watcher, I'd NEVER turn it on again. Maybe on the two weeks off the goddamn writers will get some funny material, and make the Val Kilmer episode shine. Celebrity Jeopardy, anyone?
