Conan O'Brien / Don Henley

This was an episode that myself, along with many other SNL fans, were looking forward to. I figured that he'd be an excellent host, since he hosts his own late night talk show. Also, with one week off, the show would get a chance to get some good material.

[COLD OPENING] George W. Bush Presidential Address

Meh, this was just a typical Bush opening. I loved how Bush would compare his physical examination results with Dick Cheney's. This wasn't that great, but definitely not that bad!

RATING : 7/10

[MONOLOGUE] Conan O'Brien

I sorta expected Conan to do some standup comedy, like he would do to start his own show, but I was glad when he decided to go see his studio. I liked when he showed the clip of all the times he had been on SNL before, when he was a writer. And, of course, this monologue ended on a very funny note. Not bad for a monologue!

RATING : 8.5/10

[COMMERCIAL] Subshack

These ridiculous Subway commercials are hilarious all by themselves, not to mention when SNL makes fun of them! This was a great idea, and Jimmy was really funny as Jared. Great commercial!

RATING : 8.5/10

[SKETCH] Sully and Denise

I was never a big fan of these Boston Teens sketches, but I knew it usually meant a cameo was coming up. And I wasn't surprised when Ben Affleck came on either. Still, my favorite character from these sketches is the one played by Horatio Sanz, and he didn't have much of a part in this sketch. Still, not that bad, but it could have been better.

RATING : 7.5/10

[SKETCH] Moleculo

This was probably one of the funniest sketches of the season. It was just the way Conan screamed out The Molecular Man! that made this sketch so funny. I was laughing the whole way through, and not too many sketches make me do that. Excellent!

RATING : 9.5/10

[SKETCH] Artists Against Napster

Once I got the drift about what this sketch was about, I was completely expecting Vanilla Ice. Oh well, SNL picked up some real losers to show up! Conan's Right Said Fred impression was pretty funny, but Horatio's impression of Rico Suave was my favorite. "Chocolate! Doughnuts!" And, Corey Hart's appearance was hilarious too! "I wore my Sunglasses At Night , and I was in a very serious car accident." Great sketch, and a great excuse to use impressions!

RATING : 9/10

[MUSIC] Don Henley

I didn't bother watching.

[WEEKEND UPDATE] With Tina Fey & Jimmy Fallon

This was just the typical Weekend Update. Most of the jokes were hilarious, and the rest were just really funny. It's great to be able to rely on the Weekend Update to provide laughs. You couldn't depend on it last season. Great job!

RATING : 9/10

[SKETCH] Man Loses Taint

Jesus, the writers at SNL have sick, little minds. Where do they come up with this stuff? Conan was funny when he was trying to pronounce "Braawn", and I loved his suggestion on how he could make an artificial taint out of wood. Will's character was pretty funny too. Decent sketch.

RATING : 6.5/10

[TV FUNHOUSE] Find The Black People At The Knick Game

Yes, I'm pretty sure SNL's gonna get an earful of complaints after this sketch. Oh well, it was still funny, in a sick sorta way.

RATING : 7/10

[SKETCH] Deandra Wells

This sketch was kind of annoying. Will's character was funny as always, and the best part of the sketch was when Deandra's band all took a stand and told her to go to hell. The awkward silence was funny, and even funnier when they just went back to playing the song. Still, not too bad for nearing the end of the show.

RATING : 5/10

[SKETCH] Democratic National Committee Address with Marc Rich

It was good to see Chris Kattan get some airtime, we haven't seen too much of him all season. I loved how he said that he never paid his income tax, nor did he have any intentions to. "Could the Democratic National Committee find a better spokesperson than myself? The answer is no." Average.

RATING : 6/10

[MUSIC] Don Henley

Once again, I didn't watch.

[SKETCH] James "The Gentleman Masher" Corcoran

The only funny part of this sketch was whenever Conan was bragging about what he would do to his opponent in the next match. Otherwise, this sketch was pretty stupid, and not all that funny. However, what else can you expect from the end of the show?

RATING : 5/10

Sketch of the night : Moleculo

Quote of the night : Conan O'Brien as Moleculo "...the molecular man!"

    OVERALL EPISODE RATING : 74/100

Another above average show! It seems that the second half of the SNL season is turning out to be great! Hopefully the rest of the remaining episodes will please as well.
